There's been good stuff said about them, but their durability is suspect.

This may be different, but could you help me pick out a set of speakers?

I've started using turntables, and the speakers I have aren't that great, and i'm getting tired of having to wear my headphones for 6+ hours a day. These speakers aren't going to be used for huge shows. Just mainly for listening to my beats and house parties. If it matters, the max I'll be doing is 75 people if that matters, so the speakers need to be able to get LOUD if I need them to be. I mainly mix EDM and house music if that matters.

Also, since you selected my parts for my pc (thanks by the way the build is amazing) do you think that I should get a sound card for this?

EDIT: Price range for speakers is 200 max, and I don't know about the sound card, just give me a few options.

Since the first real good subwoofer is $80 it'll seem a little imbalanced but that's just the nature of these things. I'd go with this setup:

Should get plenty loud for a house party and still be great for monitoring. The next step up for speakers would be two of these:

Sound card should be unnecessary at this price point. What you would actually want is a DAC, and that would run you about $130 for a nice all-rounder, the ODAC. You wouldn't need that, either and the money is better spent on higher-end speakers.

EDIT: Please correct me if I'm wrong, anyone, I'm not going to act like I know a lot about speakers.

Do you have an amp or receiver or something? You can get some FANTASTIC vintage speakers for cheap.

If you want THE party speaker, Cerwin Vega is one of my favorite brands. The D9 or AT10/AT12 series tend to be the best in your price range.

I don't think the suggestions are that "wrong" but I recommended the Cerwins because they're incredibly tolerant to abuse (I almost bought a pair of AT12's at Goodwill for $5, but they wouldn't fit in my trunk. I'm still regretting this decision). I'm not sure how the Pioneers would do, but I don't know how big the house is.

Are amps/receivers really needed? Will it effect my sound quality output?

Just looked these up, and the wood doesn't quite appeal to me. I would liek them to be black and red to go with the color of my laptop and turntable.

Going for looks with speakers is going to end up steering you away from the actual good products.

Alright, do you think I could get away with taking apart the speaker box and painting the wood black?

Yes. Make sure you do it right, though, there's definitely a wrong way to paint wood. If you're dad's anything like my dad or most of the dads I know, he'll know exactly what to do.
