just plug it in and do a connection test to your computer there should be a option to do that then you won't get banned.

ive tested it in the past before but just canceled before the connecting to xbl part but if you do make sure you dont use a online profile. or it will connect to xbl and bann you also you dont really need to test it just make your ip address and settings match and wireless adapter should work in system link it should go green light if done correctly.
