Go to settings, then system click storage then press Y on HDD press format you may have to put console serial number in.

I had the same problem, Its only the harddrive on that xbox, When i had 1 red ring i took out the HDD then put in another on the same xbox and it worked.

As preivously stated this is a hdd fault either within the hdd or the xbox its self. if its within the xbox then there are solutions like overheating it in a controlled situation for a temp fix or resoldering the joints inside.
