Personally I use x12s. They work very well and were well worth the $50. Obviously, the top of the line are the Astro Gaming a40s or a50s, but a happy medium would be the Tritton ax 720s. So if you are willing to spend alot, go with a40s. If you just want a decent headset, get the x12s. If you want a happy medium, you can get the ax 720s for right around 120.

If you are looking for something the same price/near the price of a Turtle Beach x41, I suggest looking at the Astro A40's, around the same price and most pro's use that headset, really comes in handy if your a serious gamer.
