So I bricked my console and need to write a freeboot img to it and need to know if I cut open a cat 5 cable, solder it to the points on board, can I just stick the other side of stripped wires into the lpt port without a connector? Because I really don't wanna buy a connector for it.

you just need to solder the resistors or pin headers to the end going to the computer
