It's for your own good.

You don't build laptops yourself. I've heard of very heavy modification, but laptops don't have the same hardware standardizations that desktops have.
Also just don't buy a laptop for gaming. Always an awful decision. For the price of a gaming laptop, you can build a desktop that will outperform it by light-years AND get a laptop that's actually good at being a laptop.

Some people may not know what an actual laptop is for and it may confuse some people so I'll just add on here..
The only advantage a notebook has is portability and the convenience factor of it but contemplating purchasing a gaming notebook throws that out of the window and here's why..
- A large majority of them are at least 17'' and almost none of them are under 15'' and that's not exactly portable, like at all.
- They're heavy. High end mobile CPU's and GPU's require a decent cooling system and that tacks on to the thickness. All this does is make it even less portable and more of a tower replacement for twice the cost and less performance.
- Not that good battery life, particularly while gaming. This means you're going to have to carry around and plug in that power brick more times that not. All this contributes to is it being less of an actual notebook.
- You need a mouse. Adding to more added features, weight, less portability, and convenience.
- Horrible panels. Most of them are TN ( granted most of them are 1080p ) but this causes bad viewing angles and causing you to have to hit the sweet spot as some may say.
- Typical bloatware is usually installed.
- Harder to upgrade compared to a custom built PC, less powerful, and more expensive.

We need to make a copypasta for gaming laptops. I don't know about you, but personally I hardly feel like re-hashing all that info every time.

No, they don't. As long as you're not using a $300 Acer on your bed whilst running Prime 95, you'd be fine.
