Basically they just don't have respect for peoples' property. Now my TMA-1 and beloved Portapros are MIA and I need to stop being such a pushover.

Have you tried asking if you could borrow their headphones?

Check out the AKG K518, Philips Citiscape Downtown, Sony XB700, and XB500. Assuming you don't want an IEM.

They all have iBuds or cheapie no-name IEMs. No way in hell those are going near my ears! My friend needs to start bringing his Pro 900 so I can steal them and hold them hostage for my TMA-1. I know he has them, he's not fooling anybody.

For an IEM right now, I'd have a hard time not recommending the Monster Miles Davis Tribute:

The build quality and warranty are pretty much all I can fault them on. The Shure SE215 would be a great excercise IEM for you, but it won't compare sonically to the MDT. It will however be built better, more comfortable with a better seal, better isolating, and covered by a better warranty.

Im pretty sure I've seen you recommend the Brainwavz M2 at this point in price and IEM, and thats what they say on Head-Fi, and I know its above my price point, but I could manage $60
