I'm just a regular PC user, and I know some tricks here, there and then on computers but I've recently had to discontinue with the AVG Internet Security protection as they have blacklisted the pirated serial keys. So I was just wondering what is the best antivirus or even better - the best Internet security software. I've got the malware removal tools sorted such as Malwarebytes and Hitman Pro if that helps

Amen.
Never had any viruses since I have gotten Norton , it performs background scans usually everyday and has great features to protect your PC

The best anti-virus is your brain. Just don't click on sketchy links or download anything strange. I just use Windows Essentials and I have never had a virus.

I like Malwarebytes the most, I would suggest you stick with that.

This remark just made me laugh, but it is true though. I've got some general knowledge of how to prevent malicious code from attacking my computer. However, I just wanted some extra layer of protection over my knowledge like an amazing Antivirus or Internet Security suite in case of one slipping into my system

Well yeah, you should always have some anti-virus software just in case. I just find the least annoying one is Windows Essentials as it never conflicts with any programs, and I have known a couple hackers who said it is actually harder to get through than most paid software.

Since i started building my own PC's a couple of years ago, I haven't used an anti virus software. It's not really needed, you just need to not be an idiot that clicks links and downloads dodgy stuff. suppose it doesn't cost that much to give the average user peace of mind. if i had to, I would have Malware bytes for regular scans and clean it up with Norton.

Since you've said that I might switch from Avast Internet Security to Microsoft Security Essentials, what do you think?
