My USB Ports stop working from time to time on my computer. Usually if i want to plug in my ipod or my phone to put music on it doesn't connect to my computer. no devices will connect to the usb port. usually i restart the computer and then it works again until a while after when it doesn't work again.

I tired to find a answer for the problem, but I only found that they stop working when they have taken physical damage. Which you have to get replaced. So they could have some type of partial damage causing them to work on and off. Should get yourself or someone to check them out. Hope that was somewhat helpful.

Pretty sure some port drives have more power then others. SO if you plug in something that needs alot of power in a low power port then it wont work. Each laptop has atleast 1 high power port.
