The reason why i ask this is i have been doing my very best to help people out on this site from the beginning of me joining and people say to me "Thanks a lot bro, i will be sure to gift you gold as soon as i can" and they don't

You can be as helpful as you want, but it takes some luck to get noticed. Just stay active and eventually you'll get noticed.
