True but I don't care about the look of the PSU, only if it runs smooth

When did I say anything about the look? That thing is absolute terrible quality and will probably fail in a month. There's a saying, "you get what you pay for".

Sorry I thought you meant the look, anyway, I see where you're coming from, I'll talk to my friend and see if I can find any other PSU's that are better within that price range

The PSU is basically what gives your pc it's fuel. 12 pounds? Sure that is really cheap. But like the other guy said, you get what you pay for. Your PC will not run properly with that PSU. I would recommend spending at least 50 pounds or more on the PSU. Try to get an 80+ certified one too.
