I'm wondering if its possible to mod Skyrim through Steam on the Mac system. Also will mods slow down the gameplay if added?

If anyone could help me out, that would be great.

I doubt you could even play skyrim on a mac without turning it into a pc so it would probably make it lag like crazy.
