If the MSI Z77 G43 / Extreme4 were not that great for the price, we would not recommend them...but they are...so we do.

Asus make bad motherboard? LOL you should probably never talk again, and go ahead link it. It was a good build, someone else on this forum bought that same monitor not too long ago. It's an awesome monitor.

And r00t, I'm not trying to be an arse and be like, no you're wrong. I'm just saying there's more than just those parts that work at the same level. I do believe the Asus mobos are better though, there's a reason Asus has been leading the mobo gaming for a while now, the RAM I just don't trust at all. It's Samsung, and it has no heat distribution.

There's no need for a heat-spreader on DDR3 RAM. Even at these high clocks. None of that RAM is better because they will not tolerate clocks speeds as high (due to the new 30nm process used in the Samsung RAM). Not to mention the fact that there's zero chance of it getting in the way. This RAM let me fit the Phanteks PH-TC14PE in a Silverstone TJ08-E because I was able to mount a far lower than I would have been able to with standard RAM. If you don't overclock it, you can run it at 1600 9-9-9-24 at low voltage, too.

The Extreme4 offers just as much or more for the price. The black also goes with anything. Asrock is on to something with these boards and I just simply cannot justify any of those boards over them. They're not bad, but they're not better.

I get what you're saying, and that's your opinion. But in all honesty, these people aren't going to overclock their RAM, nor does it need to be unless you're doing some intense rendering. I know plenty of people who've oc'd their RAM and burnt it out due to not having heat-spreading. Most of those (except the ripjaws) are the same height.

The only time I'd recommend that board, it's a decent board, is if they don't have at least 170 for a board, or they are using crossfire or SLI. IMO [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] is better, because of USB 3.0 boost, as well as GPU boost. On top of that too, I've heard many more complaints against ASRock than I have Asus.

Asrock = Asus... And my friend had a VERY nasty experience that involved four different Asus P8P67s. Not going to judge based on one experience, though.

You don't have stock cooling though, as you said. Idk, it's a trust thing too with me, Samsung used to make TVs. Some bad ones at that. And I've had personal experience with some bad ASRock parts that almost got me fired lol. Either way is not a bad choice. Their around the same price.

The only thing I critique is letting some of these builders live and learn. I mean unless the build is god awful, they shouldn't be worried about branding. That's probably the easiest and fastest way to learn is to research for yourself. That's exactly how I learned. I got a few tips a long the way, but for the most part did most of the research myself. But if they go to your thread and ask what they want, then yeah, recommend away. But if someone never uses a gigabyte board, they're not going to know the quality of it, same for Asus, etc. I once had a friend who knew nothing about any other parts except for the ones he was recommended, which when he wanted to upgrade found out there was a much better alternative, but didn't take it because he only knew the quality he had. You know what I'm saying?

Samsung also makes a huge percentage of the world's DRAM, so if anything, they're to be trusted over just about anything as far as SSDs and RAM go. Sometimes they need to be told what they want, because since we know about hardware, we know what they need better than they do. Proof that the customer is not always right.

Fortunately I try to include the best quality parts, so they're not missing out on anything. i can't control how they learn about the hardware, all I can do is get them a great rig for the price and they make of it what they please.

Well yeah with stuff like that. I mean if someone has everything compatible and it'll work just fine, let him do it. Or tell them to research some. If someone has like an i7 with an am3+ board and a 520, then yeah tell them it's crap and they need to do this this and this.
