I had the new version and I downgraded. Is there anyway to get the new version back? Please help.

you delete the .minecraft folder, but before you do that backup your saves then login into minecraft then it will update.

Press "Options" then "Force Update" and just proceed as normal. You'll need to re-patch Minecraft afterwards if you use HD textures or need to re-install mods.
