Hey guys,

Well about a week ago i went outside with my laptop and plugged the charger into a extension lead, and it turned on fine and after a few moments it shutdown. So i tryed turning it on and off and it went into a kind of restart loop.

Now, ive tryed the F11 thing, to try and reset to defaults and ive unscrewed the bottom of the laptop to make sure everythings ok there and it was. Ive tryed reseting the BIOS to factory defaults. Ive tryed absoloutley everything and ive been researching for a week and nothing has worked. Please help! I dont mind resewtting to factory defaults just anything!

Important information :
Its a dell inspiron 1525.
Its a 32 - bit
2GB RAM.

boot manager corruption. I'd just re-install windows.

did it actually boot windows, then shutdown? Or did it not even boot it?

Nope it didnt even boot. When it says like "start windows normally" and the repair option i press that and then a few seconds later it goes back to the BIOS. And how much are reinstall discs?

Thanks you guys.

i had something like this on a parkard bell easynote sj51 and after taking my one to the bear bits i found that:
1DUST yes i know but the copper cpu cooling/fan was coverd in it(along with crisps'dont ask')
2 when id taken it apart e.g disconected hdd, cpu, leds ect it worked fine

all of this (after reshearch) i found the motherboard had been surged
so do this clean the fan and wipe the motherborad down with a dry cloth then take it all apart then rebuild if all else fails theres a thing called a bin and hammer
