Right,

I have a cheap AMD radeon 6850 and I can run Arma 2: DayZ on High. There is no need to run the game on very high. It is completely playable.

But as SPEED said the Arma 2 engine is very inefficient. The new Arma engine looks very good though.

DayZ is more hardrive intensive than it is graphics, you can run it with a low end graphics card just fine, you just have to know how to set your settings up correctly. What i suggest is, ingame, make sure that your Resolution and your 3D resolution are the same, if theyre different that can cause lag. Turn off post process effects, vsync, and anti aliasing.

and also this helped me, get the program RAMDisk, and create a 400mb virtual harddrive on your computer, and then copy your DayZ folder into that harddrive, and then get DayZ Commander if you dont already, and set the run path for DayZ to that harddrive.

If you would like to know how to do this i can tell you or give you a link to the video on youtube that explains it.

But never the less, as someone mentioned, Arma2's engine is very inefficient in this regard, and there is really nothing to do about it except wait and see if it gets fixed.

Ahh, okay. That is probably one of my problems because I had like the lowest resolution settings for one and then 3D graphics at like 87% or whatever resolution that was.

ARMAs Engine is extreme and takes a really powerful PC to run well.

But even on lowest settings it should run okay, do you have the most latest drivers?
