ok so will the sound quality still be the same if i use the turtle beach trasmitter and just plug in the new headphones to it?

ok so theres a optical cable that goes from my xbox to a box that sends the signal to my x41 headset and it has a slot for regular headphones so i was wondering if i plug it into that will it work at its full potential?
