You gifted me! :inlove:
90% of people will want closed, and it sounds like you do. I'd recommend the Ultrasone Pro 900 or AKG K550.

The Pro 900 will thrive with electronic genres and they're VERY BASSY. I didn't like them for a lot of rock or classical. The K550 should do well with everything as it's more neutral. Both of these are pretty portable, well-designed, and durable. The Pro 900 has a removable cable and a more versatile design, though. They'd be my choice, but it's really up to you based on your music preferences.

The Pro 900 is such a fun headphone. I didn't think it would be my type, but it's impossible not to like. They're very lovable!

If you can wait, you can take a look at the Beyerdynamic Custom Pro. The K550 is pretty good if you don't want a lot of bass, but if you like bass, or find issue with a plasticky tone, they won't be for you. They're decent headphones for acoustic, rock, metal, and jazz, but I'd take an Ultrasone for anything with bass.
EDIT: You'll like the PRO900s a lot. I'm getting really tempted by their Signature Pro. There's something about Ultrasones that's just interesting. They don't try to sound "good" by stuffy audiophile standards. They just make music fun.

A what? I don't really follow.
ok so theres a optical cable that goes from my xbox to a box that sends the signal to my x41 headset and it has a slot for regular headphones so i was wondering if i plug it into that will it work at its full potential?
Probably. I'm not positive since I don't, like, have that, but it should work.
Because the fact that I don't know how ONE piece of hardware (to be very frank, cheap, entry level hardware) works discounts everything I know--right. Makes perfect sense. Going by the fact that it's entry level though, it's a rather safe assumption that the amp in it isn't very good at all. You can't realistically expect that we know absolutely everything about every piece of hardware, especially hardware we don't like in general. Heck, I've been in the hobby for four years, have chatted it up CEOs of companies and tossed around ideas, write reviews for one of the most popular headphone review websites, have tried a few thousand-dollar headphones and speaker setups whose value is in the tens of thousands, and I still don't know all that much.

He knows the industry and can infer. I'm willing to bet my credibility and all the cash in my wallet he's right. If you can provide proof that this is quality hardware, please, do so. If not, stop acting like you know something you don't.

1. That's r00t's post, not mine. I do support everything it says though.
2. I've actually tried quite a few gaming headphones for music (not your exact pair, but the G35, Megalodon, AX Pro, and another one that I can't remember. It was an older TB) and they all sounded, well, unrefined/muddy and dead compared to a legit headphone, likely because of the idiotic driver setup. Good stereo drivers provide a more realistic soundstage than tons of small drivers placed in arbitrary (seemingly at least) spots. No I have not tried your exact headphones, but since black ink stains my hands and red ink stains my hands, I'm assuming blue ink stains my hands as well. Putting multiple drivers (unless they're coaxial) in a headphone usually won't work because physics is working against it. It goes against anything that makes sense.

I'll help after this Saturday! Once my final ACT is done, I'll be able to do...things in general. Well, for a week. Then I need to teach myself chemistry from scratch for the SAT Subject Test.
