A user on popular internet sharing site Reddit has posted claims that Bethesda has been researching Boston for the development of Fallout 4.
QUOTE
The rumors are true, Fallout 4 will take place in Boston. In case you haven't heard, Bethesda has recently been scoping out and researching Boston. They also have a strong connection to MIT. I may or may not be an MIT employee. But that's really all I can say for fear of losing my job.
I am telling you it will take place in Boston. Whether you believe me or not, how do you feel about a Fallout Boston?
Bethesda has (amazingly) refused to comment on the speculation despite the convincing disclaimer at the beginning of the anonymous tipster's post.
Massachusetts was referenced in Fallout 3 as "the Commonwealth", home of "the Institute", likely to be descended from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The Institute is reknowed as a centre of highly advanced scientific and technological discovery, while the rest of the Commonwealth is described as a violent and lawless place.
The player interacts in Fallout 3 with a member of the Institute. He is pursuing a runaway android that was built in and ran away from the Institute, with the help of an organisation called the Railroad (because they don't have anything better to do in a post-apocalyptic wasteland other than to help escaping androids). You can find out more about the Commonwealth and the Institute at the Vault.
The rumours are currently unsubstantiated, but Fallout 3 Nexus will bring you more news as it becomes available.

Well it hasn't been confirmed yet but the city it will be in doesn't really bother me. I just wanna play the game as I know it will be amazing! It's obvious it will be in some US city with a desert around...

And Boston does not have a desert, you are embarassing yourself.

PlayHax wrotewell technically the fallout series never took place in a desert it always takes place in a "wasteland" not a desert. ex: Capital Wastleand, Mojave WastelandFrog wrote Well it hasn't been confirmed yet but the city it will be in doesn't really bother me. Well actually Bethesda have made two Fallout games not one. So as you don't know what you are talking about and are actually embarrassing yourself. You managed to spell embarrassing wrong too by the way. I will highlight it in red above so you can make sure not to do it again and look stupid. Also Fallout: New Vegas had a wasteland around it which in my opinion had more of a desert feel and Fallout 3 had a large desert/wasteland too. So I wouldn't bother responding to this and making yourself look more pathetic.

So don't embarrass yourself any longer.
And Fallout 3 had a Wasteland, not a desert. The Sahara is a good example of a desert, just like Mojave(a desert.) Know your geography, there is no desert near DC.
