Okay so at school I am reading this book called 1984 by George Orwell. In the book if you have the wrong expression on your face, you are arrested, or even killed. Same for thinking the wrong thing. Also, the T.V that you have in your house is a permanent recording device which B.B ( Big Brother, which is like the leader of Oceania ) could be watching you on at any time. So basically I just wanted to know, is this what will happen in the future? Will there be thought police? Its crazy just to think about, as if it does happen it may not be that far away.....

Well, I guess the Joker would never be arrested then.
I hope not. This reminded me of the film 'minority report' and Pre-Cogs.
I can never see this becoming reality though.
We already revolt if our privacy is invaded so a camera in our living room would be pushing it a bit far.
It's definitely something to think about though.
Good post.

cammy-f wrote Maybe in like years and years to come but not anywhere near close to our lifetimeI thought that, but maybe it isn't? Kim Jong II had his people of Korea believe that he invented the helicopter, that his country ran the world. Also I forgot to mention in the topic, they have to think what they are told. If they are told B.B is a girl, it is a girl, if they are told B.B is 97, it is 97. Maybe it isn't as far away as you think....

I understand where you are coming from, but Koreans only very rarely left the country, and neither had their parents/grandparents, so they knew no different. They thought he was some sort of super human. And if the generations which are alive now where told that they cannot tell any new people to be born into this new society about what the world used to be like, or they would be eradicated. All records and traces of that person would be deleted and it would be like they never even existed. If it was like that then nobody would have the knowledge to question the authority

But, I don't think the facecrime will happen, it just seems too far fetched as most of the population would probably end up being executed
