All i can say this is complete crap. I ride bmx and i have fallen off many times with my iPhone in my pocket and not ones has the screen smashed, the only thing that has ever happened to it was a crack in the plastic but the screen was fine.

OT: I would preferable go with the iPhone 5, i have had a droid before then i got a iPhone and from my point of view if you have the money to spend the iPhone is a much better option

How? How in the world is it a better option?

In my opinion, I think that the Android operating system is more advanced, in terms of alterations (without having to "jailbreak"). However, I do find iOS smoother, but with the 4s, it does freeze often (I have owned 4s and Galaxy S2). On the S2 I run Bittorrent, live wallpapers, youtube, you name it without any problem.

This is my personal choice, you may, however, prefer the iPhone. I recommend asking to borrow an android phone, say an S2 from a friend if possible.

EDIT: I also drop my Samsung daily, I have it in my pocket with keys, loose change (no screen protector) and no scratches, except on the plastic, but that's from when I fell of my bike and it slid about 15m on concrete

Dropped the iPhone once, broke, screen replaced which cost me 100 euros, dropped it again, then I rage quit on life and took the heap of mush to apple and exchanged it for a nice iPod Touch (I do love their iPod series).

EDIT NO.2: Excuse my poor grammar there. Costed->Cost** Live in Spain ya see

Cons:
Everything

If you plan on spending long periods of time playing games on your phone, get the iPhone. If you plan on doing anything you really want to on your phone, get a droid. If you are a dev, get a droid.

Android because with every new phone that gets released with android, something new and innovative gets released with it unlike apple who releases a new phone with a slightly bigger screen and like 3 millimeters thinner.

More durable
Bigger screens --- What you need a massive screen for?
Better screens ---- Nope
Higher-resolution screens --- PPI counts more than resolution
Thinner --- Incorrect -- the iPhone 5 is thinner than the S3
Better designs (Sony, HTC One X/S) --- Big touch screen, multiple buttons at the bottom which can become confusing
Better software --- Android crashes more than iOS
More flexibility --- Hmmm maybe so
Faster --- Not really, iOS is developed for apples chipsets, making it just as fast if not faster in certain areas
Better specs -- Hardly, as above
More features - Like....
Better camera -- Depends what you are using your camera for
Cons:
I can't think of any ---- Apart from the crashing and updating issues

Don't follow what one person says. experience it for yourself.

I answered the above as I sell these for a living and come across issues with both everyday....I come across more android issues than I do iOS.
Agreed a lot is user error, but most software issues are Android.
