Pretty neat for a first design pal. I can see you already know the basics of photoshop judging on the way you have presented this, so i wont give you feedback like your a five year old. So as i was saying this is pretty neat for a first design, im liking the 3 dots showing what piece you are viewing under the picture. You still have lots of room for improvment.
One very big thing about this piece is the colors you have used, its very bland and boring, not unpleasant to look at but definatly something you would get bored of looking at. I would recomend keep part of it that current grey, and changing maybe the fonts and the banner to a orange or a light blue. One mistake i clearly noticed when i first looked at it is the video thumbnails under the recent videos tab are not aligned, use the blue guidline rulers to help you with that. They are very helpful when it comes to web designing. Another problem you have with alignment is the twitter feed is very dodgy, i would really fix that. Lastly, i dont think you should have a search bar on a portfolio type site, its just not relevant at all as everything you need is right there. I would certainly remove that.
This is a pretty neat piece, well done.

I really like this for your first bro...
Planky has really given you the best advice here, so take heed on what he says.
I like the BG colour but the font needs to stand out a little more. The twitter feed panel needs more work.
Just try and break it up a bit more, seems all scrunched up.
Never the less a very good first attempt.
