In my personal Opion if their really messing with you over line and you want payback doxing is the way to do it i have done it to people who have really messed with me In real life and they never messed with me again so my opion on doxing is you should do it if their is a good reason

For Blackmail and Extortion.

Like when people D.o.x known youtubers, they do it for the publicity and to get in one of their videos. When people d.o.x just random people, the threaten to give out all there information or do something to them unless they hand over a sum of money.

Its just a thing people do for revenge or to "make a point" black mail, etc. I thing its kinda messed up, even if they did something to you. Theres no need to post their parents birthdate/dead date, address, phone number, etc.

If you DoX someone, it's for a purpose.

Usually, if you get dox 'ed on the internet, you've done something to piss someone off.

Like, for instance, when the ghost files that bricked your JTAG got released. teh1337 literally ruined that kid's life.

Or, for instance, why I got dox 'ed. For providing illegal services over the internet to people. And someone obviously did not like it.

Either way, dox 'ing is a very efficient way to say "I can't do anything in real life, so I'm going to be an internet tough guy"
