Welcome to the programming resource thread.
This is an effort to keep the section stickies clean, while still providing an easy-to-use system to learn more about programming.
Topics will be broken into sections, and links will be provided to threads which contain the information you're looking for.
Want to get your thread listed here? Make it good, and it will!
Introduction to programming
This thread will help you learn the basics of programming, including a brief overview of a couple languages, and terms you will need to know.
Forums/t=3577639/programming-basics.html
Java
Java is one of the most commonly used programming languages in the world. Java's learning curve makes it a desirable first language, and almost any programming course you take will use Java sooner or later.
RDCA has created a series of videos to help you learn the ropes, from a basic "hello world", to more advanced programs.
Forums/t=1691336/java-tutorials-hd-voice.html
C++
C++ is one of the most powerful, and one of the most widely used languages. It holds a major part in the game development market, which is part of the reason the language is so popular. Unfortunately, C++ isn't programmer friendly. C++ lacks garbage management, as well as many other features, which may prove catastrophic for the inexperienced programmer. Still, there's no denying that C++ is a desirable language when trying to get into a programming career.
skatertg has provided a basic overview of the C++ language.

That brings us to the end of the thread. I will try to expand on this as often as possible, but the success of this thread depends on the contributions of others.
If you'd like to contribute a resource to this thread, send me a PM with your topic's URL, and if it's awesome, I'll add it here.
Things I'd like to add:
- Web language tutorials (PHP, JS, JQ, HTML, CSS, etc)
- C#
- VB.net

Nice job speed since this is really the only thread you need as a sticky for programming since having all of the other stickies made the programming section a jumbo. Anyways nice to see it condensed down.
