Mine did it when my 4s was jailbroke.. You have to restore it, then update it. That's what I Just did And IOS 6 Isn't really that good. I Just updated. Also when my internet was slow it said that sometimes.

All I Can really think to do would be to just maybe wait until you have better internet and try it again, because Sometimes I've even had to go to a friends house to use there internet and update becuase mine was slow and it said the same thing, But also what I Have done before is just not back it up, becuase if you have like your apps synced and your music then you won't loose anything.

Try restarting your computer, and restoring your iPhone after, or even putting your iPhone into DFU mode.

Also Hold the lock and the home button will put it into where you have to do a hard reset.. That always works for me.
