People need to realize that the Mayan belief says nothing about Apocalyptic events. It's just the end of an era on their calender.
It last ended on September 18 1618, the world didn't end.

If anything, the Mayans believe that humanity will get an upgrade to our DNA making us better beings in some way.

I've said this before and I feel like a stuck record when it comes to these Mayan posts, but It sums up my feelings on the matter:

According to Science, the world won't end.
According to Mayans, the world won't end.
According to Religion, the world won't end.
So, according to common sense, the world won't end.

Well the last part is you won't know read the bible "No man will know when Ill come back) So keep that in mind other thing bible also talks about is the rapture.We however won't know until dec 21st.

If anything happens on that day, I believe it would be something to do with extraterrestrials. I personally feel nothing will happen that day though. It's a calendar that has ended multiple times already, so why would the world end now?

I was feeling good about my answer then you hit me with a 30 year war fact, while our nations aren't in so good of times at the moment. I think some nuclear bombs could give us some "upgraded" DNA. I know it surely would be "a new beginning."

Off topic, but I remember watching a show talking about that cornerstone. A lot of people believed it went missing. Some believe they wanted the documents, and other information, that were inside of it.
