What are these gold keys if you pre-ordered the game do you get them or do you have to do this?

no you wont you get it on the pre order but if you go to the menu of borderlands go to extras make a shift account then you get a free golden key and you can do the glitch

The keys(pre-order or shift menu) get you the loot in the box which are purple weapons, and I doubt you will get banned for this.
