Ok so after looking for countless hours, i clicked a forum post on here, and found a link to another page which has another explanation of KV's. Though i would post the article here incase anyone else was having the same problems i was!

A Keyvault is the part of an Xbox 360 that makes each console unique. It is the part of the Xbox that Microsoft uses to identify which console is connecting to their servers. There are specific details located inside the Keyvault that makes it so important, one of the main details located in the keyvault is the serial number.

The reason Keyvaults are so important to JTAG's is because you can use them to unban your console. You can swap a keyvault from another unbanned JTAG into your JTAG and then your box magically becomes a different console according to Microsoft.

When a Keyvault gets banned, it doesn't ban just the console, it bans the Keyvault, which means every console using that Keyvault becomes banned.

What Is An Unshared Keyvault?

An Unshared KV refers to a Keyvault that is dedicated to just your console. This means no one else has your Keyvault to use, only you do. The benefit of this is you can control when it is "booted".

The Keyvault lasts 4 hours before Microsoft can detect your Xbox is running unsigned code and ban your Keyvault. So with an unshared you determine when that 4 hours start. You could keep the Keyvault for days before launching it and it would still work.

Because of the flexibility of boot time and the dedication of selling an entire Keyvault to just one person, an Unshared KV costs a substantial amount more then a Shared Keyvault.

What Is A Shared Keyvault?

A Shared Keyvault is a Keyvault that is distributed between multiple people for use all at the same time. Because Keyvault sellers can sell a shared Keyvault to multiple people, the price drops dramatically.

Shared Keyvaults have a lot of myths about them because people are very uneducated when it comes to shared Keyvaults. I plan to break it down for everyone and give you the facts,

Myth: Shared Keyvaults don't last as long as Unshared Keyvaults.
Truth: Incorrect! Shared Keyvaults last just as long as Unshared Keyvaults. The reason people might think this is because the 4 hours start when the first person boots, not when you boot. So if you boot the Keyvault late, then you are not going to get all 4 hours of it.

Myth: Shared Keyvaults disconnect randomly!
Truth: Half true! Keyvaults allow a certain number of connections on at once before it starts kicking people off. The reason for this is unknown, but from my personal research it is because a normal xbox can allow multiple gamertags on it at once. If you are playing 4 people on halo at once, that is taking up 4 slots on that Keyvault. Microsoft has accounted for the maximum number of people that would normally play on a regular Xbox, then added a couple more slots just to be safe. From my experiences (This is not a fact!), the amount allowed on one Keyvault is about 6.

Myth: There is nothing you can do to prevent a shared Keyvault from disconnecting!
Truth: Half true! If the Keyvault becomes shared enough to the point of disconnecting, then no you cannot do anything about it, but the team here at Xbox Element has found a way to prevent people from sharing the Keyvaults they purchase from us! This ensures that if you buy one of our Keyvaults, it will be of the highest quality and you will not disconnect ever!

Myth: Signing into multiple gamertags on one JTAG takes multiple slots!
Truth: Absolutely! We have personally tested this. Having 2 gamertags connect to the Keyvault at once takes two slots up.

Myth: Any keyvault will work for any type of console! (Xenon, Falcon, etc.)
Truth: Correct! (With the exception of Xbox Element's Special Keyvaults) There are 2 types of Keyvaults. Type 1 and Type 2, pretty easy huh? Type 2 works for all consoles. Type 1 works only for Xenon. The reason behind this is technical, but there is a reason. The team here at Xbox Element has again, found a way around this, and all of Special Keyvaults will work for all consoles!

Exactly its just the difference in age, Type Ones Were For The Original Motherboards and now Type 2's are In All The Newer Motherboards
