$1000 for a gaming pc?! no...!
I dont know why people think gaming pc's cost that much... they dont
New consoles cost around $250-300
For that price, or an extra $150 you could build a pc that could play most games on high settings, some 1080p... alot better than consoles.
If you look on ebay, you can get some decent deals!
AMD phenom quad core... ~$100
AMD HD 6770 ~ $110
Decent motherboard ~ $70
maybe a psu if needed, not expensive at all!
maybe some ram ~$30
Yea, I decent PC for ~300-350
Ok, yea... i get it, its not as simple as put a disk in a console, but its not too hard!

Of course it isn't expensive, Im building one for 200gbp in college just now. People seem to go for the ultra expensive thinking its the best on the market.

Xbox's are just as expensive. Also, you seem to be forgetting that it's STILL A COMPUTER?
Oh, now you want to edit? well, you already have a badass PC that could edit with ease. GFX? NOOOOO PROBLEEEEEEEM!
Xbox's main focus is games. Computers main focus is being a computer.
Besides, let's be honest... how much did that computer that you're on cost?
