Agreed, I set a manual IP for my Xbox. All I would have to do is change it and portforward, no problem.

Why? That just seems like extra work when it only takes 30 seconds to get a new IP. Unplug router wait 30 seconds plug it back in and BOOM new IP

Right but for some reason my router doesn't automatically portforward the Xbox LIVE specific ports, so everytime my router gets shut off, it gives me a new IP. So I have to re-portforward. So instead of going through the hassle I just set a static IP address. Plus it comes with the benefit of OPEN NAT

One of my experiences from this is yesterday when I was playing Modern Warfare 2 PC and I was modding it and some kid said he had my IP and was gonna trace it and then encrypt my router to fry it so I could never get online again. Immediately I knew he was bluffing so I called him out on it and told him to do his worse, because let's face it they can't do jacksh*t to you. After they make up some stupid excuse of why they can't tell you how they are gonna do it or why it hasn't happened yet I call them out on it and then RIGHT after they say they need to go or more up some other stupid excuse of them having to go and they're like "JUST WAIT IT WILL HAPPEN" but 1 month later nothing has happened ._.

The worst they'll do is get Cain and Abel to sniff your IP, and maybe even UDP flood it.

Cracking into an account is an artform that only skilled people dabble with. Not some little 12 year old.

The reason for this being is because most of them sh*t themselves when somebody gets their IP address, I mean think about it, I've had kids read off fake IPS to try and scare me then I've hopped on cain & abel and gotten theirs. Most of them don't even know HOW to get an IP without constantly looking at a Youtube tutorial. It's actually really effective sometimes. And it's funny as hell if they panic over it.

Although SOME people do know how to boot, That's the most they can do because they're idiots. Or use one of those IP lookup sites. I've never been booted once. Because people who threaten to do it often use crap like Jays booter which doesn't work.

I see your point in it. But most of the time if they are a good hacker they don't tell you when it is gonna happen or anything it just happens. Also their voice is not high xD

Ask them what a Dos attack is and how they would go about using one to boot someone off the internet, If they don't know what a DOS attack and it's definition is, more or less as soon as you mention it, well, there is your answer for you. But as someone stated above me, cracking an account is an art-form (unless your using a brute force program, even then slightly difficult) It takes snooping, watching, digging, even slight communication between the hacker and it's, well I guess "prey" to actually "hack" someones account.

Well you need a person's IP I am guessing to get there account right? Someone told me that when they have a person's IP they can crack there Computer files and then go into there search history and pretty much have control of their computer. Then once they are in the computer they go to [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] to see if it has ever been connected there and if it has then they can take it. Not sure if it works or not someone told me about it though. Infact I don't even know if that is possible
