We have been slowly loosing our rights. we are moving away from the Bill of Rights at a slow methodical pace so we won't complain too much.

It's easier for governments to govern when they know what the citizenry is up to.

Thomas Jefferson once said: The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

The police are corrupt as ever and violating our civil rights everyday with their illegal search and seizures and planting evidence and lying to get convictions.

The NDAA bill, or martial law, was passed the U.S. House 283 to 136 votes[2] and was signed into United States law on December 31, 2011. This law allows for military to act as police.

The patriot act is also against the constitution allowing for unreasonably searches. The government may search and seize Americans' papers and effects without probable cause to assist terror investigation. This act allows:

- Right to a speedy and public trial: The government may jail Americans indefinitely without a trial.

- Freedom of association: To assist terror investigation, the government may monitor religious and political institutions without suspecting criminal activity.

- Right to legal representation: The government may monitor conversations between attorneys and clients in federal prisons and deny lawyers to Americans accused of crimes.

- Freedom of speech: The government may prosecute librarians or keepers of any other records if they tell anyone the government subpoenaed information related to a terror investigation.

- Right to liberty: Americans may be jailed without being charged or being able to confront witnesses against them. US citizens (labeled "unlawful combatants") have been held incommunicado and refused attorneys.

Every one of these rights goes against the constitution. We may have lived in a free country 230 years ago but not anymore. The government is slowly stripping our rights from us, I think its time we need another american revolution or civil war. What do you think?

You have a good point, but the continental colonies wasn't rich because of oil trade, they were rich because they produced a huge amount of tobacco.
