I am buying my first subwoofer(s) I am looking at the Rockford p3 15 inch sub just a single one with a rate of 600rms and a peak of 1200rms and I was looking at amps and I was wondering should I get a 1200 watt amp or a 1500 watt amp and not one that is like 500 dollars I got like 250 just pm me or post if u have a suggestion I want it to hit hard and sound good but not blow the sub thanks

I'd get a 750 - 1,000 Watt amp honestly. Otherwise you could blow your sub as you'll be feeding it more power then suggested. Some subs are built to handle more watts then stated, but for the most part it will only hurt it. The Skar Audio VVX series for example are made to handle way more then their stated RMS and peak

Peak is just for marketing purposes so just ignote that. a 750 watt amp would do you just fine, dont go over 1200 or you could risk blowing your subs.
With your price range, there is nothing too good for 1k watts.

Sure it's a brand name but the amp is one of the most important parts of a good setup. Most RF amps push much more than they state so this would be more like 800 + these mono amps are meant for the sub only, which is why they have a LP filter. I personally like my setups to have better SQ
