This is my review for MGK's new album, Lace Up
This is MGK's first album and after the singles Wild Boy and Invincible were released there was a lot of hype for the whole album.
I'm going to review this Track by track.

Save Me- An emotional track to open up, this was his track to reach out to his home, talk about the struggles, etc. Thought it was a good intro to the album untill i heard M. Shadows on the chorus. I'm a big A7X fan, but i did not like his part in this song. Track was very nice, nice guitar by Synester, wasn't feeling the beat though. Pretty forgetful. overall, 8/10

What I Do- A good track. I found the chorus to be repetitive. I felt that Bun B out shined MGK on this track, but MGK killed his verse too. Overall nothing special, but a good fun track to listen too. 8/10

Wild Boy- This track was one of the singles released. I feel like this song had potential. MGK, is good in the song, knows how to get the party going, but he made one mistake.. one little mistake...He let Waka Flocka Flame on it. BOOOOOOOOO. I can see how his yelling, and obnoxiousness could maybe add to the track, but he just sucks. MGK even got a second chance with the remix, BOOOO. Take off Waka, 2 chainz, Yo Gotti, leave Meek Mill and add some other good artists then this track would be good. Overall though, it's a fun track to listen too. Great Beat, good chorus, sh*tty features. I give it 8/10

Lace Up I'm not a big fan of Lil Jon, but i think he was okay in this song. Not a fan of the chorus, but the thing that got me on this song was the fact that MGK goes H.A.M and the beat on this track is sick. Not much else to say about this track, probably one of the more popular songs on the album. 8/10

Stereo Didn't like this song at all. I feel like MGK has a voice that goes with certain kinds of music, and this track and his voice did not go together. Good Lyrics though? 6/10

All We Have Again, don't like the match. Track does not go with MGK's voice. The song had good meaning in it, and i think he did a good job telling a story with this one.
7/10

See My Tears At this point in the album i was getting a little tired about hearing about how hard it is on the street, etc. What he spits is real and i respect that though. I just don't want a whole album about it. Good song, just getting tired of it. 7/10

D3MONS- Darker side of MGK, Lyrically i thought it was really cool. Great producing, and I really got into this one. DMX was good but i prefered MGK's verse. It was a change needed half way through the album. 8.5/10

Edge Of Destruction I automatically liked this song because of Tech n9ne. Awesome verses by Tech, and MGK! You know MGK is good whenever he is able to keep up with a legend like Tech. Twista was ok, not a big fan of his but he did well. No one was really outshined. Even though tech killed his verse. 9/10

Runnin Once again, another song about all the hard times he's gotten through, etc. I did like this one a lot more then the others though. Probably one of my favorite songs on the album. Good chorus, good production, good verses, good song. 8.5/10

Invicible- The second single released, I liked it when it first came out, i like the lyrics, the chorus is okay, and i like the beat. I think lyrically this is one of the better songs. Not much else to say about this track, most people know it already 8/10

On My Way This song is good, different feel. I wasnt expecting this from him. I liked how MGK talked about old memories and stuff in the song, and i thought it had a great track, great beat. I liked it so much because i thought it was something different.
9/10

End of the Road Again with the whole "i finally made it" Except, this had a different approach, and i liked it. I didn't like the chorus though. Great lyrics in this song 7/10

Half Naked and Almost Famous Finally, something different. I wasn't a fan of the t beat, the track was ok, but he still got me with his fun lyrics in this one. 8.5/10

La La La (The Floating Song) I liked it a lot, a song for all the little herb smokers out there, and for those who dont. This is probably my 2nd favorite song on here in my opinion. Good beat, track, lyrics 9/10

Hold On (Shut Up) I love this song!!!! Beat is tight as FU.CK. Lyrics are crazy, track is crazy. Best song on the album in my opinion. I usually don't like the songs that eveyone else likes, but idk how you cant like this song. I'm not a Young Jeezy fan, but i even liked him! 10/10

Overall, great album, i can listen to all the songs (except for Stereo) and i hope he keeps doing what he does best. Needs to talk about some different stuff though. Just my opinion, let me know if you disagree, or let me know which album to do next.

Nice topic. Well written and well thought out. I liked his new album. I liked Lace Up the best. The beat is incredible and its just a great song to listen to. I'd already heard Hold On a lot so it wasn't anything new to me.

Overall as a rapper, i dont listen to him much, the reason i talked so highly of him is because i felt like he talked about real stuff. I don't listen to all of the songs on this album all the time, i rated each song individually after listening to it multilple times. Songs that i'll actually keep on my playlist will be hold on, lace up, and Edge of Destruction. the others i felt had a lot of thought put into them, and i felt like the lyrics were good as well. but i won't necessarily listen to them. thanks for feedback! And i would love to see Tech, sounds awesome

I haven't actually bought the album yet. I'm a closet MGK fan. I'll probably buy it at one point next week.
