Me and a friend are doing a video for YouTube with an iPod Touch (1st Gen). What we are doing is destroying it for fun as it is completely broken and I have an iPhone 5. Right now, we have the silver casing off and the screen is completely smashed, but we don't know much about the battery. Will it explode if we don't take it off and hit it repeatedly with a hammer? And if I do take it off can I just rip it out or do I need to use a soldering iron for the glue?

when coming to a battery,,,... theres ALWAYS a chance of a spark off the hammer will ignite the battery ion fluid.

take the battery out so you dont get a 4th or 5th degree burn
