I bought a pc mic on play.com to use for pc/xbox, i then went on amazon and bought a 2.5mm male to 3.5 female adapter so I could plug it into the xbox controller.
On my mic I have a green audio cable, and a pink mic cable.
I've tried putting the pink male into the 3.5 female and into the controller but nothing shows up, no mic symbol in party
Also i tried changing the sound to 'both' and just speakers and headphones which does nothing.
I plugged the green cable into the adapter and I get a mic symbol where it shows im speaking, but when i record a message its just a buzzing noise.

If anybody could help me I would be so greatful as the adapter got delivered yesterday and the mic got delivered today so I'm really not up for ordering new stuff but if there is no alternative I will. I will also give a rep point to who ever resolves my problem.

Thanks,
James.

Try it, if not you might be SOL because it's a pc mic. Just because you have an adapter doesn't mean it's compatible. You should invest in turtle beaches, Astros, or tritons. They work for pc and xbox.
