The k means you can overclock it I believe.

Non-K CPUs since Sandy Bridge have been capable of limited overclocking. You can add up to 4 bins, or 400 MHz to the multiplier on these and after that (it's a no-brainer even with stock cooling), you can increase the base clock a bit before you actually hit a wall.
