Are you talking JTAG/RGH or Flashed unit? If JTAG/RGH, then it's easy to get banned as long as you actually now how to get it online in the first place. Flashed consoles always have the possibility of getting banned, but you can help avoid it by doing certain thing's like keeping your games up to date through ABGX and other little things....

Yes i can do that deal owing tot he mountain of cable's that's piling up at the moment

No xclamps will mean it's probably been reflowed before, but either way a reball is the way forward. The size of washers that a lot of people use are just not big enough so over time all of that pressure on the die (central point of the GPU) actually causes the chip to bend so will actually mean it needs replacing. But reballs are for more permanent repairs and only 35pound. That and if it has been reflown before then chances are another reflow will fry the chip as the chips can only tolerate so much heat AND even if the reflow works it just means that the unleaded solder will end up being even more brittle and the repair will not last very long

I know you have all your prices up but how much would a unbanned flashed xbox cost with a 20gb hard drive and all cables.

There is no guarantee that a reball will work 100% owing to lots of factors, but it has a high success rate (or rather i have a high success rate). And it's your choice if you want to spend more on a new console as opposed to just 35 pounds on a reball..
