you dont need gold membership to message friends ON XBOX, you do in order to message via XBOX.COM

i pretty much said in the first post that i cant use an Xbox.. i said without using an Xbox and NO Membership

You do NOT need gold you just need a silver account to message them(but you cant join parties or play online) if you dont have accsess to a Xbox or computer then use this App thats for IPOD,IPHONE,IPAD android its called

1.My XBOX Live(this is a GOOD app i recommend it )
2.360 Live-xbox client

just sign into the app and go to your friends list and you can message them from there, Hope This Helped you
