it does.. Whenever I do lag I usually go off somewhere, set up a claymore and camp it out until the lag stops.

Ping relates to how long your connection takes to get to the host (the packets that are sent or however CoD works). Ping is measured in milliseconds, and the lower ping is the better. Ideally you want to keep your ping at 100 or less. Lowest you can go is 5ms on most games I've played.
