Cant connect to Xbox Live after Update

As most of you are aware the release of the new xbox dashboard update has just came out recently,
Once i downloaded the update , i would be able to play for about an hour and then keep disconnecting from xbl,
the next day when i turned my xbox back on , when testing the connection , i get an X between the internet and xbox live
As i have tried everything possible under the sun, I believe there may be something wrong with xbox live itself
Just wondering if any of you are experiencing this or have found a soloution , thanks guys

I know some people that did and they had modifications to their xbox's such as chipped/jtagged so If you have one of those things that may be why if not I would recommend phoning microsoft because Xbox live is fine as people such as myself are on it now
