I don't think many people would or are desperate enough, but you'd be surprised.
People would honestly buy it for probably $150 though.

For the very same reason people pay outrageous amounts for platinum, gold, diamonds, etc.

Exclusivity. Supply and demand. Very high demand + very low supply = extreme prices.
