20 blocks outside spawn is safe & food and animals do spawn but you suck at minecraft so you dont know how to find them.

Staff doesnt suck, you probably where begging for staff position like most of the people on minecraft(sorry for the people who dont)

Also did you notice how i said it was a survival server
