Mistake number one. Buying a pre-built.

Number two being it's an Acer and it just happens to be refurbished as well.

Seems likethe computer is pretty good.

No, it's not. Pre-built junk. It's all marketing. You're basing your ideas off of pure aesthetics.

Technically it depends on the video card specifications. The reason it's still crap is because they cheap out on every single component they can in order to maximize a profit.

Low quality PSU. M-ATX generic motherboard. Locked CPU. Generic slow HDD. Ricer case with shoddy construction, zero cable management, and fans with sub par bearings.

$900 is A LOT of money and I'd hate to see it go to waste so I'd just not looking at pre-configured and pre-built computers at all. I said in the previous post but I'll say it again - they cheap out on everything they can to maximize profit. They're a business - they have no quality control. They try to persuade you with a flashy case ( I think it looks horrible, in which it is ) to hide the fact that the components are cheap and of no quality.

You have two options here.

A. Build it yourself. This is the best options - ALWAYS. You save a lot of money, have more selection, able to customize, get better performing components, get components that are of quality - I can't stress this enough, and have the credibility knowing that you put it together yourself.

B. Going with a company like CyberPowerPC. This is an option I very rarely recommend..though some people are too stubborn / lazy / weak minded to do a 45 minute job so they have to pay John Smith an extra $150 to do it. You're going to be limited as well.

If you do end up going the logical route and want to build it yourself ( no, it's not challenging ), I'd recommend posting in the Custom PC Topic sticky above. Everything you need is there.

FYI, if you do it yourself, for $900, if you do it correctly, you may be able to snag an AMD 7950 video card in there which will tear through every single game out @ 1080p.
