The best free IMO is Microsoft Security Essentials, picks up rootkits and keyloggers (tested). When it scans a file and it "thinks" it's malicious it uses cloud data to "ask" if it's malicious. But I HIGHLY suggest dropping the cash for Malwarebytes *also*

Yep, five years now I believe. Never once had a virus, tested it with some of my keyloggers and as soon as I drop it on the desktop it wipes it out. And if for some reason it doesn't pick it up Malwarebytes would clean it. Both offer internet protection against drive bys and real time protection.

No problem at all, it really is a great system some articles talk about it's put a hurt on systems like Norton and Mcafee since it's free and preforms top of the line.

Don't get any of the "top branded" ones. Full of crap and no better than MSE. I used to have AVG with the tuneup, took 29s to turn on. I now have MSE and it turns on in 12s flat. Same HDD, and a basic AMD processor.

(MSE= Microsoft Security Essentials)
