i cant see cod dying out personally, but if another FPS exactly the same as call of duty(like battlefield but better)i could see them then loosing players, theyve never really been challenged.

I feel like this could start the downfall.
It's undeniable that CoD players are already leaving the series due to the horrible quality games that are being produced lately.
It's not even just IW (They do make sh*t games now) but CoD4 is pretty much what made CoD what it is now.
BO2 for me will be if this series will continue to be a yearly purchase or not, if it's horrible I'll be starting to play a brand new series.

I don't think it's a make it or break it for Treyarch, but MW3 was the make it or break it from IW and now they probably lost a fourth of the fanbase, including me as I will never buy another CoD made by IW again.

Call Of Duty 4 - Words cannot explan how good and simple this game was
Call of Duty WAW - Awful boring depressing , but the birth of zombies which is great
Call of Duty MW2 - Loved the game had 25 days game time , great engine , maps and guns loved it
Call of Duty Black Ops - Average , got bored at Christmas , although Zombies again salvaged it
MW3 - Shi. Worst Cod ive played

This game has the potential to make Millions of dollars. It could break soo many records. Treyarch does not need to rely on anything, neither does Activision. They already have billions of dollars possibly

yeah, they can do what they want with it, not like WAW where they had to base it around something
