So i decided to turn on my jtag and use it today. after it sitting for months maybe a year. I noticed it said play DVD on the dashboard, but there was a game in it. So i clicked play and it loaded a xbox360 movie type thing, and showed the buttons on the screen like when you play a movie on the xbox.
Plus rep to the person who can give me some step by step help on how to do it or a TUT.

im no expert on this but, I had this problem when swapping drives. witch i did fix my self without buying any equipment.
The problem i can see is that Disc Drive's DVD key Dont Match the DVD key on your system.
You Will need to put the correct DVD Key on the Disc drive.
i cant give you a step by step guid as ive not swapped a disc drive in years and forgot the program names ect on how to change the DVDKey.
Its not a hard process tho Just look for a GUID @ google
Hope This Helped a little

okay well this is from my past experience ...
Software you'll need is
PORT I/O
JungleFlasher
PC ( You'll have to open your PC up and theres a port on the motherboard )
Onto the XBOX...
Take your xbox motherboard out of the chasse so its just a MOtherboard.
Now the two wires off your DVD Drive, The black one goes into your PC... and the black with 2 white connectors Stays pluged in.. Note the wires are small and if unlucky wont reach the pc...
Once its connected Plug your xbox power in but dont turn on...
Now, install port I/O
once done this will let your pc's connector be usable in this process,..
Now for jungle Flasher.. Install this or run it.
Once on Jungle Flasher there TUT on the website how to "Flash a Drive / Retrive DVD Key"
Please follow that guid on how to retrive the DVD Key..
If you need a little more in depth on this PM Me. This was just off the top of my head from past experience

Either your dvd key is wrong or your drive is junk.
Make sure the keys match and then try a new laser....
