Currently the formula for the Black Ops 2 ranking system is a bit of a mystery. There is no official information on how the ranking system actually calculates and ranks a player. According to a recent interview the zombie ranks is based on a live reflection of your skills. It can fluctuate in a game. That would explain people going from one bone to the blue eyes skull.

It takes 5 slashes to move up to the next level. How exactly you earn these slashes is a mystery.

So if you have one bone, It will take 5 slashes till you move up to the next level and get a new icon which would be two bones and so on.

Ive seen many with blue eyed skull with 2 shotguns and a spiked shield

its only based on how long you survive and how many downs you have and how many you have revived

Well I went straight from Rank 3 - Skull, to Rank 5 Skull with Dagger without blue eyes.

how does that work?

I have the skull with blue eyes!
But I made it to round 26 on nuketown solo, 21 on town solo, and 32 on farm solo... so why dont have anything higher then it?? I have 5 slashes.
I need help, please message me

I think some of the ranks are based on "Doors Opened" I opened like 3 doors and my rank went up slightly. Just a theory though.
