Ok, People are saying if you didn't shoot Alex Mason in the head, something happens later on, what happens and what mission is it in?

Lies, you HAVE to shoot him. I tried shooting the guys who were holding him, it doesn't work you have to shoot him. It made me hate the campaign pretty bad
