I don't know about crappy rock music, but I know some really good rock music that would be good for a montage.

For intro music some DeadMau5 would be good. But for music in the montage id use some Modestep they have some hard and heavy drops good rytham to.

I suggest Dubstep in any kind of Montage... Alot of people use the song Some Wobbles by Dj Ephixa because it has a good beat and kind of Fades and blends with a video. dont ask why, but i think that is a great song for a montage... just make sure it has no words... dont use a song like The Bassex or Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites...
