I quote this from a site where they were discussing Misanthropy.
"Yeah, I hate misanthropy so much. People just seem to ignore all of the briliant things humans do and only focus on the negative things.
We are the most technologically advanced species in the entire known universe. How could you not be amazed and impressed by that?"
1st We are the ONLY Technologically advanced species in the known universe.
I couldn't be amazed and impressed by that for the same reason I wouldn't be impressed by a retard winning a sprint against themselves.
Misanthropes focus on the negative things because there are more. People need to turn on the news, look on the Internet, every single day you hear about murder, rape, war and famine and people in western civilization do jack shit about it.
Like to pretend it isn't happening and listen to a cheery song on Youtube when they feel slightly depressed.
Let's all just forget that we're on a dying spinning ball of horror in the middle of a cold, empty universe.
A planet which we are mining the shit out of for resources to maintain our petty squabbles.
Humanity is a virus and once we are done with this planet beware local solar systems because humanity has 1 aim and that is self preservation.
Humanity is so proud of a few thousand years of building new things we think we have a right to carry on.

Well, I can see why you would think like this, however I disagree. Misanthropes rely on the thought that humanity is without hope, while I believe there still is.
We just need the right push.
I feel stupid for quoting this but, "At the precipice, we change." and it's true.
If you're faced with the choice of death or changing something you do, it's so easy to change.
I really hope you come to accept this, but judging by your last two lines it looks like your mind is already made up.

Oh, thank you for those last two lines, time to quote the Doctor. "So. Here you are, depositing slug pellets all over the earth. Put their achievements against their failings, through the whole of time." Yes, we have made mistakes. Many, MANY mistakes. But we are creatures of hope. One day we may all come together and make sure that we wont repeat those mistakes that once happened in the past. We may all finally come together in peace, and wish for happiness for ourselves rather than unhappiness for others. Only time will tell.
